Political Shift in Bihar as Nitish Kumar Steps Aside for Parliamentary Role
The Chief Minister of Bihar Mr. Nitish Kumar, has announced to join the federal parliament of India, the Rajya Sabha.Nitish Kumar is known as a leader who dominated in the politics over two decades and taken oath after last election for the record 10th times as the Chief Minister of the state of Bihar. According the the latest information, he took this decision due to his deteriorating health condition and the Rajya Sabha elections that are scheduled for this April.
After his move, now BJP could install its own Chief Minister in the state of Bihar, which is the poorest state of India. In the state of Bihar, where the BJP has never held power on its own, the party's parliamentary board is all set to choose Nitish's successor. However, the BJP leaders of Nitish's own party, the JDU, have expressed their discontent over the move.
